POSITION QUALITY MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following;
1)    Serves as Food Safety and Quality (FS&Q) System/Pillar Leader and is the primary Quality resource for the   Plant and key driver of Company Food Safety & Quality continual improvement and Regulatory Compliance.
2)    Lead HACCP, SQF, Organic certification and regulatory compliance.
3)    Champion the education and training of personnel on FS&Q practices and standards. 
4)    Facilitate FS&Q meetings to provide guidance on best practices (e.g. oversee GMP, Sanitation and Continual assessment), root cause analysis and implementation of the quality system.
5)    Track, analyze, and lead initiatives for all quality and customer complaint issues within the plant. 
6)    Lead quality related incident resolution activities for finished goods and/or packaging material to determine and implement mitigation plan (CAPA).
7)    Manage document control to ensure accuracy of all FS&Q policies and procedures. Ensure compliance and record keeping for all mandated quality checks, testing, sampling and sanitation activities 
8)    Provide leadership and direction in measuring and testing product and collecting data relating to materials or the process. Maintain quality data base to ensure that accurate quality information is available in a timely manner.
9)    The assist in the administration of material qualifications testing and reporting of results to the appropriate corporate personnel and suppliers.
10)    Maintain current knowledge of trends and changes affecting food safety to make recommendations for appropriate program changes to ensure governmental compliance.
11)    Collaborate with colleagues in Supply Chain, Purchasing and Materials & Suppliers Quality functions to continually improve our capacity and capability to ensure product meets specifications, process control yields, scrap reduction and commercialization efficiency without compromising food safety.
12)    Take a lead role in the Recovery and Recall processes, including Traceability, for the plant.
13)    Ability to travel to other plant locations if needed to

QUALIFICATIONS
•    5-7 years’ or more of FS&Q experience with food or beverage products; Consumer products or food company and plant experience, either technical or production
•    Understanding of industry standards of Quality and Food Safety
•    Strong administrative and computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint 
•    Excellent oral / written / interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence others 
•    Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•    Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to effectively present information to top management or public groups.
•    Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner gather and analyze information skillfully to formulate action plans and follow through to completion. 
•    Demonstrated Project Management experience as Project Leader and cross-functional team participant. 
•    Self-directed and possesses the maturity commensurate with being an effective leader.
•    Knowledge of Statistical Process Control and Analysis. 
•    Ability to lead, train, motivate, coach and develop individuals and teams

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
B.A. or B.S. in Food Science/relative discipline (technical degree preferred)
