POSITION PROJECT ENGINEER
RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides engineering support for all US facilities as directed by the Head of Engineering for the following:

1) Plant Engineering & Maintenance

2) Plant Health, Safety, and Environmental related topics.

3) Capital & Plant Project Engineering & Management

 

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Engineering and Project Management Support,  Coordination, and Success of capital projects across all facets of the US organization (Concept to Completion)
  2. Engineering Support to the US organization for all technical related topics including plant production and plant utilities. 

Additional Functions

  • Capital Project Scope development
  • AutoCAD development of P&ID’s, Mechanical Equipment Arrangements, and Isometrics as required to support Project scope development.
  • Work with Outside Contractors and Suppliers as needed to facilitate capital project implementations (scope development, design, quotes, contracts, etc).
  • Capital Project Startup and Validation Support.
  • Plant Electrical & Automation Support as needed.
  • Support of plant Utility Systems including hot water heater equipment, steam  boiler equipment, ammonia refrigeration equipment, HVAC equipment, Compressed Air equipment, and wastewater equipment.

Education / Training:

  • A BS Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or Food Science.   

Know-how / Professional Experience:

  • 5+ years technical experience in manufacturing environment, preferably food manufacturing.
  • Proven project management experience for multi-location manufacturer, preferably food industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Computer skills including knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and the Office Suite and AutoCAD are required.  Rockwell/Allen Bradley Software knowledge, PLC Ladder Logic, and Factory Talk Platform Software is a plus.
  • Strong background in Mechanical Design or Process Systems Design is required.  This includes P&ID, Equipment Layouts, and Isometric development.
  • Ability to dissect and analyze problems, to probe facts, and to analyze issues from different perspectives to make informed conclusions and decisions.
  • Strong Automation understanding and how it interrelates to manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Concepts and Operational Excellence is preferred.
