POSITION PROCESS ENGINEER
RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops and optimizes robust pilot and production processes for all new injection molded preforms. Scales up processes from the laboratory to the manufacturing plant. Shares best practices and collaborates with packaging engineers, customers and manufacturing facilities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conducts unit cavity development on preform injection pilot machines, including setups, adjustments and optimization of injection processes.
  • Conducts and supports production tool qualifications at all manufacturing facilities.
  • Collaborates with Packaging Managers, mold experts, product designers and other project experts to develop a robust pilot and production process.
  • Collects, records and transcribes machine and process data.
  • Accurately and efficiently performs QA testing and QA data analyses.
  • Conducts evaluations and provides comprehensive reports on new materials, colors and additives.
  • Develops and implements innovative systems and procedures that allow optimization of all phases of the new product development process.
  • Provides input and documentation on corrective actions.
  • Ensures the process works at the optimum level, to the right rate and quality of output, in order to meet customer requirements.
  • Operates and performs preventative maintenance on material dryers and colorant additive equipment.
  • Purchases, operates, processes, stores and tracks all injection tools utilized for development.

Education/Experience:

  • BS in engineering or engineering technology
  • Minimum three (3) years experience working with preform injection systems
  • PET, Colorants, Barrier Material

Qualification/Skills:

  • Excellent organizational, communications, and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong knowledge of PET material characteristics and injection molding process
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Skilled in Word, Excel and Outlook and willing/able to learn new software applications
  • Detail oriented and able to use rigorous logic methods to solve complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to creat strong technical reports
  • Available to work a highly flexible schedule
  • Willing and able to travel up to 45%
