POSITION PROCESS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

The Position

  • Acts as Facilitator of the Site Steering Committee that oversees and directs the Site’s continuous improvement journey with respect to people, practices and performance.
  • Monitors and reports on best practice implementation and performance progress to Site Management.
  • Directs and coaches the Site Trainer – Continuous Improvement.
  • Leads area / operational diagnostics to identify value with the DICI toolbox.
  • Leads CI projects such that objectives and milestones are met, within agreed budget and timing, utilizing the Lean Six Sigma methodology.
  • Develop, mentor and coach Green Belts to successfully execute significant improvement projects and professionalizes workforce. Regular does close the loop audits on lean and lean 6 sigma (LSS) efforts. Serves as the site expert on LSS.
  • Give and receive timely, honest, data driven feedback with all teammates on site to influence tangible savings and drive cultural change.
  • Manages and reports on the site DICI Improve and Value portfolio of the site in collaboration with site finance and measure sheet owners.
  • Support multiple facilities and spend time supporting other locations. Time spent in these locations will be determined jointly with site director and regional DICI support.
  • SHE Duties & responsibilities: 
    • Display and promote positive safety behaviors at all times, and intervenes actively when unsafe behaviors or non-compliance is observed as to prevent accidents and incidents.
    • Ensures all SHE incidents are reported immediately to supervisor and as necessary Incident Commander.
    • Uses proper personal protective equipment, appropriate safety tools, equipment and procedures to ensure that self and others go home safe each day;
    • Area and equipment operate at the highest safety levels,
    • Maintains full understanding and follows all Life Saving Rules.
  • cGMP Duties & responsibilities:
    • Display and promote positive quality behaviors at all times.
    • Complies with Zoning Requirements as displayed.
    • Acts to prevent all foreign matter contamination to the Belvidere products by following personal hygiene standards, using all prescribed gowning requirements and ensuring and maintaining cleanliness of the area and equipment.
    • Acts to prevent all foreign matter contamination to the Belvidere products by following Policy for product contact, glass/wood policy and illness reporting policy.
    • Reports Quality deviations.
    • Follows SOP and good documentation practices.
    • Completes the required quality trainings.

 

Deploys with all functional groups within the plant (communicate this to other sites as needed) without direct hierarchical authority, needs to engage and drive by means of strong communication and presentation, convincing messaging.

Requires careful assessment and judgment of applicability, required depth of implementation and choice of what to use. This position has a large influence / responsibility to make the right choices to prevent waste of time and resources and generate maximum benefit.

Needs to be able to easily shift between site overview, program management role and shop floor / practice implementation.

Presents and communicates to audiences varying from shop floor to corporate and executive management.

 

The Ideal

  • Engineering Bachelor’s degree discipline required. Master’s a plus.
  • 5-10 years of manufacturing experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Trained, Green Belt Minimum,  Black Belt preferred.
  • Project Management Skills
  • Proven proficiency in Lean problem solving, root cause and waste reducing tools, processes and concepts.
  • Strong team player and leadership with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
  • Passion for world class operations, best practices and people development in CI.
  • Ability to switch between ‘Helicopter View” with site management and ‘hands on’ in local teams.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
  • Strong Understanding of Manufex Work Processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Mini tab, MS Project etc.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Skilled in organization, prioritization, and attention to detail.
