POSITION PRODUCTION MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES


Essential Functions

  • Consistently enforces company policies, safety standards, SOPs, and GMPs
  • Develop and complete production schedules in a timely and accurate manner
  • Responsible for the planning, organizing and control of all plant activities.
  • Leads and participates in the continuous improvement goals of the plant and continues to drive continues improvement to all levels of the plant.
  • Assures uniform and consistent adherence to federal, state and local regulatory agencies such as, but not limited to, USDA, EPA, DNR, OSHA, DOL, etc.
  • Assures consistent and complete implementation of all company policies, procedures, work rules and safety requirements.
  • Identifies training needs, initiates development of subordinates, and recommends effective personnel action.
  • Reviews and approves cost control reports, cost estimates, and manpower and facilities requirements forecasts.
  • Directs the overall safety process of the plant facility and assures that company safety standards are achieved.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.
  • Maintain raw materials inventories to ensure continuity of production
  • Ensure that products are produced according to specification
  • Monitor Production and Maintenance Managers performance and execute disciplinary actions based on the requirements detailed per plant policy
  • Resolve production and quality issues ensuring accurate reporting of department performance
  • Research and determine the efficiency of new products, materials and equipment
  • Work with other departments to ensure work flow and production issues are addressed and goals are achieved.
  • Maintain plant production, labor, cost, and efficiency data to communicate results to VP of Operations

 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in a food-manufacturing environment preferred

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Should have demonstrated a successful track record in planning, organizing, developing and controlling all aspects of a manufacturing/processing operation.
  • Must also possess strong continuous improvement skills as well as the potential for upward mobility. Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written; Ability to communication at all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivation
  • High energy level
  • Capability to make sound judgments/good decisions
