POSITION PRODUCTION ENGINEERING MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES

Manager, Production Engineering 

• Provide leadership and technical support to manufacturing facilities, equipment and processes

• Oversee/direct analysis of container & end defects, process control problems, establish root cause and recommend practical solutions

• Recommendation, selection and implementation of new technology and manufacturing processes to keep Company competitive in the market place

• Supervise engineering and technical personnel and provide support activities to plants requiring assistance

• Develop, document and deliver specific training programs for specialized three-piece welded and two-piece draw can production lines which would include basic setup and operation, detailed PM&R, maintenance and complete overhaul programs

• Plan and manage projects to reduce cost, improve quality and utilization as well as introducing new processes and/or products

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 10-15 years of engineering experience in an environment focused on the design and manufacture of engineered metal parts and products.  Steel and aluminum  food can experience is a definite plus

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering management experience including demonstrated success in managing multiple engineering projects at the same time

• BS or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

• Focus on engineering managerial concerns such as: safety, quality, delivery, cost, and resource allocation

• Strong financial discipline and solid planning skills

• Strong leadership skills, both functionally and cross-functionally

• Highly accountable for meeting all commitments and deadlines

• An independent and innovative thinker with sound decision-making skills

• Strong problem solving capability; anticipates and provides expert resolution to problems

• Monitors integration of work; participates in solving difficult technical problems

• Solid understanding of lean methodologies

• Process oriented; background should include the following: Six-Sigma, Kaizen, TPS, and JIT

• Ability to build relationships across functions

• Strong commitment to customer satisfaction

• Proven communication skills that relate to employees at all levels of the organization

• Balance of strategic and tactical focus

• Ability to travel upwards of 80% (both flying and driving)
