POSITION PROCESS ENGINEER
RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Summary:

The Technical Process Manager collaborates with operations and R&D personnel on initiatives focused on process optimization, implementation and process/product development related to the production of whey based ingredients. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
  • Record, collate, evaluate and interpret operational data to make appropriate recommendations and optimizations.
  • Fully leverage automation capabilities to accomplish objectives.
  • Project leader for process optimization and ingredient development projects.  Leads meetings resulting in clear actions and plans.
  • Track and measure progress by routinely communicating activities, objectives and goals.
  • Good mechanical skills enabling strong collaboration with Operations, R&D, Engineering, Automation and QA personnel to resolve production tasks/needs/objectives as they arise.
  • Utilize QA process and procedures including change documentation and new equipment validation programs.
  • Mentors others by sharing knowledge and experience and leading by example.
  • Leverage knowledge and problem solving abilities to support commercial and research efforts.

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Writes project charters, experimental designs, completes data analysis and writes project reports as needed.
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Plant QA SOPs.
  • Safety Protocol
  • Stop any observed unsafe acts, and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
  • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
  • Support safety policies and programs.

 

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in science related field or a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in food production plant.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Completion of related college level courses a plus.

 

Skills Required:

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow documents and procedures (GLP, SOP, SDS, GMP, test procedures, and HACCP).
  • Ability to provide leadership and positively influence other team members.
