POSITION PLANNING / LOGISTICS MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning/Logistics Manager
The Planning/Logistics Manager is a key member of the Company leadership team and will be responsible managing all aspects of logistic including production planning, purchasing, inventory, warehousing, distribution and transportation. This position will be accountable for the safety, quality and productivity of the department and meeting applicable business objectives in order to continually improve the performance of the company. 

Essential Functions: 
• Oversee the activities of the Inventory/Shipping Coordinator, Transportation Coordinator and Purchasing/Production Control Coordinator and provide support and mentoring to them to ensure their success
• Develop a strategic plan and goals for the department
• Develop and implement quality control systems and process controls
• Develop strong relationships and serve as a key liaison with growers, sales and marketing, vendors and carriers 
• Serve as the main negotiator with vendors, carriers or other applicable 3rd parties
• Oversee all 3rd party cold storage requirements and activities
• Assist the General Manager with projections and master production scheduling based on all factors affecting the growers and the poultry industry
• Work closely with the Plant Manager to ensure overall operational success of the organization
• Ensure a safe work environment and that all safety standards are being followed 
• Ensure all quality, safety and other audits are being conducted
• Enforce all policies and procedures in a fair and effective manner 
• Drive and support process improvements to help continually improve the business from all aspects 
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed 
 

Job Qualifications: 
• Degree in business related field preferred
• Minimum 3 years of logistics and leadership experience required
• Must possess clear written and verbal communication skills 
• Must be willing to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction 
• Ability to work well in a team environment 
• Good time management skills and excellent attention to detail 
• Ability to maintain confidential information 
• Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills
• Strong organizational skills 
• Expertise in Excel and/or other data related software and strong overall computer skills
