POSITION QUALITY SUPERVISOR
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • You will manage the QA functions to support the plant and its co-pack customers.
  • You will lead and assist with managing food safety, regulatory and SOP programs as directed by the QA Manager.
  • You will be expected to interact with ,and fully participate in the plant operations.
  • You will need to understand the chemistry behind all chemical reactions and chemical testing that occurs during each process step.
  • Must also understand the theories of all equipment that provide aide to the process.
  • The QA Supervisor will be involved in troubleshooting and problem solving in conjunction with the Operations Supervisors to prevent faulty product and consumer complaints.

Responsibilities:

  • Update and audit plant SOP Programs.
  • Function as Plant HACCP Co-facilitator. Maintain food safety programs.Assist in complying with regulatory requirements related to product safety and quality.
  • Oversee and directly supervise lab analysts and develop the skills and processes to improve laboratory operations.
  • Maintain specifications and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain formula batch sheets and ensure that they are updated and accurate.
  • Assist with the successful commercialization of new products through communication with R&D.
  • Troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation as necessary.
  • Participate in Auditing Program by performing process and procedural audits.
  • The Quality Assurance Supervisor will work in safe manner and be aware of potential safety hazards in the laboratory and workplace.
  • He/she will comply with all GMP, SQF and regulatory policies.
  • The QA Supervisor will perform annual Quality compliance training and one-on-one operator training.
  • A prospective supervisor must be flexible and able to effectively communicate downstream and upstream.

You must have:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong data analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others
  • Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work with a vision towards continuous improvement.

Education:

  • B.S. in Food Science or Microbiology.
  • 2-3 years experience in food and beverage quality control, or sanitation.
  • Previous experience in environmental compliance is desired.
  • Previous managerial experience.
