Provide direction and assistance to assure manufacturing sites have systems, knowledge, capabilities, and practices to comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, as well as EPA Risk Management (RMP) and OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations for ammonia facilities. Work with the location personnel to manage the programs, practices, and policies to achieve best in class environmental results. Provide education and training on environmental regulations, Company expectations, and share successful programs and practices to facility location personnel. Assist facilities in environmental reporting, permit renewal, and implementation of environmental regulations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Serve as the Corporate representative between facilities, regulatory agencies, and consulting firms for environmental affairs and compliance
•    Assist facilities in permitting and reporting activities for air, wastewater, storm water, Tier 2, Form R, refrigerant management, spill reporting, and other environmental regulations, as required
•    Provide a continuous improvement approach to environmental and safety programs through the use of audits and gap assessments
•    Assist facilities in identifying, developing, and implementing site-specific training on environmental programs and policies
•    Develop and provide on-going environmental regulatory training for facility environmental coordinators
•    Assist facilities in maintaining environmental compliance as it relates to Company and regulatory requirements
•    Provide assistance and guidance to manufacturing sites to enable them to perform effectively within the environmental compliance and worker safety arena
•    Assist locations on development of action plans in response to deviations noted on audits and inspections
•    Assist locations on development of regulatory correspondence in response to NOVs or other regulatory communications
•    Provide a method to evaluate that the locations' ammonia programs are effective and meet the intent of the regulations
•    Actively manage locations' changes to the ammonia system through participation in process hazard analysis assessments, pre start-up reviews, management of change activities, compliance audits, and mechanical integrity audits
•    Review and update existing ammonia Risk Management Plan (RMP), Process Safety Management (PSM) and Homeland Security programs, and standard operating procedures; develop new procedures; and complete reporting submissions, as required by regulations
•    Develop and provide on-going RMP/PSM regulatory training to facility staff responsible for implementing RMP/PSM programs
•    Provide system software and needed regulatory training to facility environmental coordinators

•    Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree required
•    Master's Degree preferred
•    5+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
•    8+ years work experience with single and/or multiple plant environmental responsibilities
•    Working knowledge of federal and state environmental protection regulations for reporting and permitting
•    Certification and/or License -- None

•    Able to communicate well, both orally and written, to provide assistance to manufacturing site and staff as it relates to environmental compliance
•    Able to understand issues in relation to product manufacturing and their impact on environmental compliance and the organization
•    Able to effectively organize, coordinate, execute, and manage environmental activities through to completion
•    Able to understand food, environmental, and safety regulations and their impact on the organization
•    Able to help develop and/or execute strategic plans to comply with existing, new or amended regulations, while minimizing financial impact on affected facility
•    Able to multitask and work with different teams on different projects simultaneously to accomplish common goals
•    Able to solve problems from several disciplines
•    Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail
•    Skill in leadership and coaching
•    Must be able to read, write, and speak English


COMPENSATION $90,000 - $115,000
