POSITION CI ENGINEER
RESPONSIBILITIES


The Continuous Improvement and Engineering Project Manager will: 
•    Drive productivity and continuous improvement activities with a hands on approach across the organization. This position will lead and facilitate Continuous Improvement Teams on operation’s systems and processes at the plant level. This role is responsible for leading rapid improvements in manufacturing, warehousing and logistics by using Lean and Six Sigma techniques. Works with other leaders to drive rapid results to deliver the highest levels of performance and ensures that the company has all the necessary tools, training, and metrics to drive improvement and growth. This position is responsible for supporting process improvement and cost reduction programs and will work in collaboration with other supervisors and managers to drive rapid results to deliver the highest levels of performance through application of best practices.  
•    Be responsible for management of Capital Projects and other Engineering projects related to process improvement.

Responsibilities include:
o    Project design and development
o    Project execution including managing to budget and timing,
o    Delivering projected results

Experience / Qualifications 

Minimum of five years of engineering related experience, with at least two years project management.  Experience with Lean, Six Sigma Processes.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
Proven ability to lead teams, foster accountability, and manage change

 Duties and Responsibilities

Food safety is the responsibility of every employee.  Any issues should be brought to the immediate attention of area supervisor or manager.

 
1)    Oversee and manage assigned projects.
a)    Meet project timelines and stay within budget
b)    Immediately communicate any budget, timeline or any other project variances
c)    Drive initiatives across the plant reduce cost and improve product consistency.  This coordination will include, but not be limited to warehouse operations and manufacturing.
    
2)    Manage projects to help achieve our corporate strategies
a)    Identify and execute cost reduction programs/projects for the Operations division.
3)    Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement, champions ideas, and promotes cross-functional connections to implement solutions
a)    Ability to develop and apply best practices - sell the organization on the change associated with the proposals.
4)    Actively engages in projects and takes responsibility as both a leader and a doer to assure effective completion of projects.
5)    Help cultivate a culture supportive of teamwork and positive employee relations.
a)    Able to provide mentoring and coaching to Continuous Improvement Leaders/Professionals
b)    Able to coach and mentor Lean Six Sigma projects throughout the operations front line staff
6)    Recommend investment alternatives to minimize costs, avoid future costs, and/or increase productivity.
7)    Assist in the development of detailed short and long-range plans in support of corporate strategies.
8)    Help plan and direct the layout of equipment, workflow, and assembly methods.
9)    All other tasks assigned by his/her supervisor.
a)    Must have the ability to understand direction and transfer vision to subordinates.
