POSITION PRODUCTION MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Description:

Establish leadership and set the strategic direction for the manufacturing team. Ensure necessary plans are in place to deliver the required business results while developing a culture of ownership and accountability.
Interpret safety policies/practices to employees including enforcing safe work practices.
Utilize available data (line speed target, set-up guidelines, and efficiency and process data) to continuously improve productivity, uptime and reliability.  Utilize the above information as a tool to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and product cost.
Set clear priorities and align resources to deliver against business and regulatory requirements in the areas of cost, financial controls, and quality, safety and business initiatives.
Determine schedules, sequences and assignments for work activities based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel. 
Ensure clear and concise communication to all levels in the organization.
Must be able to drive improvements in manufacturing processes. Must be able to put new systems and procedures in place while instilling accountability and ownership in a rapidly changing environment.
Supports Continuous Improvement projects through the practice of Root Cause Analysis, Kaizens, 5S, etc.
Must comply with and support the requirements defined within the contents of the GMP, HACCP/HARPC, LOTO procedures, and foods safety programs established by Bay Valley Foods.
Must be able to perform other related duties as assigned. This position can involve weekend, night shift, and on call duties.
                                                                                                                                                         

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Strong computer skills including knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office.
Previous SAP experience preferred.
Works well with a team.
Possess ability to deal easily and effectively with all levels of personnel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Self-motivated with strong multitasking, analytical thinking, problem solving and leadership skills.

Education:

 Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Minimum Experience Preferred: Three to five years as a Production Manager or five to seven years of progressive supervisory experience.  Experience with SAP ERP environment strongly preferred.
