POSITION SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES

The Supply Chain Manager will report to the VP, Operations and will be a key contributor across Operations who will drive significant value as the company continues to grow.  The Supply Chain Manager will provide leadership to the Supply Planning, Purchasing (Direct Materials), Inventory Management, Logistics and Customer Service teams, and will be responsible for three primary performance metrics of the company:  

1. Service Levels

2. Inventory Levels

3. Freight Cost

The Responsibilities-

Supply Planning and Inventory Management

• Supply Planning and Purchasing:

o Understand inventory and service level objectives

o Implement supply planning procedures to support company objectives and policy, which might include A/B/C segmentation, min/max levels, etc.

o Support the implementation, training, use and improvement of supply planning / MRP software

o Oversee issuance of purchase orders for direct materials and contract bottling services from established suppliers and contracts, and ensure effective tracking and follow-up to ensure production dates will be met

o Identify, quantify and lead cost savings projects as needed

o Work closely with Technical Services Team to ensure on time delivery of new products and adherence to quality processes and procedures

o Manage communications and transactional relationships with vendors and suppliers

o Perform site visits to plants and distribution centers as needed

o Recommend and Source new distribution centers

• Inventory Management:

o Manage Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO) targets while balancing service levels

o Prevent / minimize slow moving and obsolete inventory

o Develop timelines for inventory runouts and launches

o Ensure all third parties are complying with company inventory policies, including proper rotation and tracking of lot numbers

Manage inventory accuracy performance of third partiesTrack KPIs and generate a supply chain dashboard

 

Customer Service

• Manage Customer Service Team, ensuring they have the tools needed to effectively complete daily tasks

• Achieve or exceed service level targets

• Support new customer set ups

• Ensure compliance to customer shipping requirements

• Own the customers’ scorecard metrics (in-stock, inventory, on time, etc, including violation chargebacks)

• Reduce customer fines and delays.

• Problem solve customer issues to ensure the best possible customer experience

• Increase EDI compliance 

Logistics

• Manage Logistics

• Meet or exceed service levels at the lowest-possible cost.

• Identify cost reduction tactics, methods and strategies to continually manage costs

• Foster relationships with current carriers and/or brokers

• Source new carriers/brokers and find best in class rates

• Ensure all carriers meet legal and insurance requirements

• Manage claims process.

The Desired Skills and Experience -

• Industry / Functional:

o Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing operations or consumer packaged goods in a similar capacity

o BS/BA in Logistics, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics, or a relevant field

o Significant work experience as a Supply Chain Manager, Analyst, Logistics Coordinator or another similar role

o Proven experience in data analysis and reporting

o Proficient understand of all levels of the supply chain processes (e.g. inventory planning, warehouse management)

o Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ERP systems (i.e. Netsuite) and Requirements Planning systems

o Finance / Accounting functional knowledge a plus        

o Exceptional Excel Skills preferred
