POSITION QUALITY MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Quality Manager is responsible for safeguarding product safety and quality while meeting Company and regulatory standards, and has oversight responsibility for a continuous quality improvement program that includes quality control and quality assurance. This person is responsible for ensuring that the production and distribution of products meets or exceeds all quality standards. This person also has responsibility for communicating quality results and the transfer of quality and QA knowledge to the workforce. 

• Maintain, review documents and application of our procedures for manufacturing cosmetics and drugs as defined by current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) of 21CFR for all activities: batch manufacturing, raw materials acceptance and in-process final packaging of products.

• Draft and publish all procedures relating to quality assurance/quality control system. 

• Train personnel in quality and process control procedures. 

• Document, review and maintain databases for design review, nonconformance reporting, packaging raws inbound inspection, microbiology testing and other activity.

• Investigate and review nonconforming products and raw materials.

• Maintain regulatory requirements for current customers, drafting and issuing documents as needed.

• Review all business projects for regulatory approval and discuss shortfalls, resolve issues.

• Communicate with current customers and meet their quality requirements.

• Monitor control activities with QC Line Auditors.  Give guidance where necessary.

• Conduct Internal Audits of QC/QA systems, procedures, and cGMP status.

• Review quality objectives and plan/do/check/act accordingly

• Review data and procedures making revisions where necessary.

• Report to top Management quality assurance activities and status.

• Establish and issue specifications for finished goods, raw materials, and other control items.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science Chemistry

• Minimum of five years of supervisory/management and Quality related experience 

• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and standard practices (i.e. FDA, GMP’s)

• Strong understanding of Plant QA systems (i.e. HACCP SSOP’s etc.)

• Must possess strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, AS400, etc.

 

Preferred:

• Working knowledge/experience in Six Sigma and/or lean manufacturing

• Ability to speak multiple languages and lead a multicultural team is a plus

• Preferred Certifications in CQA (Certified Quality Auditor) or CQIA (Certified Quality Improvement Auditor)
