POSITION REFRIGERATOR/UTILITIES ENGINEER
RESPONSIBILITIES

The Refrigeration/Utilities Engineer is responsible for the efficient maintenance and operation of the boilers, air system, fire system, and refrigeration equipment at the optimal operating level for each piece of equipment.  Additionally, this person is responsible to oversee all activities related to steam generation or freezing the product. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 - Optimize performance of all boilers, air system, fire system, and refrigeration equipment.

- Manage the Process Safety Management (PSM) Program for the facility, which includes maintaining all documentation, providing periodic training, and continuously working to improve the process.

- Maintain and progressively improve the Department s preventive maintenance program to maximize the operation and reliability of the equipment.

- Oversee the operation of the energy recovery systems for the plant to ensure the maximum energy recovery for the facility.

- Assist with capital projects for the steam, air, and refrigeration systems for the plant to ensure installation is done at the highest level of quality and within budget.

 

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

- Bachelor s degree in a related field preferred.

- Extensive understanding, knowledge of, and experience with PSM programs.

 

Required Length & Type of Experience:

- Minimum 5 years of experience in ammonia refrigeration, boiler operation, and project management; and/or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

- Project management experience preferred.

- Prior experience and training with emergency response plans and procedures.

-Open to 50-75% travel
