Contract Manufacturing Manager will serve as the owner of the relationship between Company and our vendors including contract manufacturing partners and major suppliers and provide support and leadership in various cross functional teams. The individual will work collaboratively to enhance existing internal and external relationships and develop new external supply solutions that offer the best strategic partnerships to meet business objectives while staying true to our culture. This role requires the ability to analyze current and future sourcing needs, support innovation and “outside of the box” thinking, build relationships, find creative sourcing solutions, drive year on year cost savings initiatives and tracking, and to create and deploy sourcing strategies with seamless stakeholder alignment and a can do attitude. This role is responsible for providing thought leadership, vendor management (capacity analysis, supplier performance, service, quality, cost, supplier scorecarding, KPI’s), market analysis, contracting with vendors from initiation through negotiating and finalizing of contractual agreements (contracts/ service level agreements/ settlements), risk mitigation, facilitation of relationships and issue tracking, and issue resolution between vendors and the Company business units (category management, finance, quality assurance, research & development, information technology and supply chain) while at all times representing Company’s core values and protecting our beloved brands

Here’s a day in the life:

Create and manage effective sourcing strategies with stakeholder alignment related to external vendors.

Manage all aspects of the relationship with  manufacturing partners and major suppliers (vendors) including identifying and developing new supply relationships.

Manage all aspects of contracting with vendors and risk mitigation from NDA’s, negotiation of all terms and requirements (Pricing, Performance, Quality), to finalization of agreements and beyond through renewal processes with vendors.

Maintain an information database (capabilities, constraints & capacities) of current vendors and potential vendors and be current with key markets.

Conduct and facilitate site visits to confirm the soundness of potential suppliers and regular visits with existing suppliers.

Support new product development and innovations including by delivering supply solutions that ensure the capabilities and capacity of the vendors meet current and future needs and drive cost savings initiatives.

Partner with QA to ensure vendor adherence to quality assurance and quality control requirements.

Create and maintain vendor scorecards, performance reviews, business reviews and innovation meetings.

Communicate effectively written documents or verbally to ensure clarity between and their vendors. Ensure communication is timely and in keeping with company values.

Ensure trip reports, lists of issues, action items, open items and history of key vendor milestones are completed by direct reports, other company personnel and yourself.

Act as a team player and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company.

Ability and willingness to present information in a clear and understandable manner to internal and external groups (i.e. executive teams, mid-level plant management teams, clerical staff and hourly staff).

Utilize a computer with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Lync and SharePoint is a plus. ERP systems knowledge and lean manufacturing experience are helpful.

Be an excellent representative of company internally, in public and with the vendors. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Work under pressure, meet deadlines, have outstanding follow through, maintain composure under stress and be willing and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Demonstrate excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.

Skills you’ll need:


A Bachelor’s degree is required with the degree in Business, Food Science, Supply Chain, Procurement or a related field preferred. A Masters Degree is preferred.


10+ years of experience in manufacturing, purchasing or supply chain including at least 3 years of experience managing External Manufacturing is required.

5+ years of contract creation/management is required.

10+ years of supervisory experience is required with direct management experience strongly preferred.

Demonstrated skills and abilities with strategic sourcing required. 2+ years of Strategic Sourcing Management experience strongly preferred

Demonstrated ability with both technical and soft skills

COMPENSATION $110,000 - $135,000 RANGE
