POSITION | MANUFACTURING ENGINEER |
RESPONSIBILITIES |
The qualified candidate will design and develop manufacturing process and automation platforms and apply them for the realization of new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production. They also will support manufacturing concepts relative to planned manufacturing quantities, quality requirements and safety/ergonomic improvement designs. We are looking for a team player who is highly engaged in all support along with manufacturing needs.
Engineering Skills
• Provided technical support, engineering assistance, and guidance in manufacturing techniques, equipment design and operation, and the debugging of mechanical and electrical and electronic systems.
• Execute packaging technology strategies, including growth initiatives, quality improvements,
cost reduction activities and general support to all production related disciplines.
• Prepared capital equipment justifications, evaluations on production, design reviews and
studies, cost reduction systems, and technical responsibilities.
• Successfully manage projects.
• Leverage best practices and capitalize on technologies with cross functional plant action teams.
• Track cost reductions in all process improvement activities.
• Define and develop opportunities to reduce cost and to maximize productivity.
• Effectively support the production floor as needed.
• Review engineering specifications to maintain knowledge of manufacturing methods, processes and activities.
• Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to realize improvements to both internal and
external processes to reduce net operational losses.
• Use Lean tools as needed to resolve specific challenges (mistake proofing, value-stream maping, root cause analysis, visual factory, and elimination of waste.
• Aggressively investigate product yields, determine the nature and scope of the problem and
supply corrective action suggestions as well as cost analysis for corrective actions.
• Identify and execute cost savings
• Design both simple and complex tools, gages, and fixtures to support production.
• Apply Problem Solving methods to improve quality and output.
• Participate in quality and lean manufacturing Kaizen events.
Computer Skills
• CAD
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook), Internet.
• Driving systems changes such as Red Zone and Megamation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a Mechanical Engineering degree with 5-7 years experience….canning or pouch experience is a plus as well as setting up or installing new production lines….
Some travel maybe required.
