POSITION DEMAND PLANNING MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Demand Planner reports to the Senior Director, Internal Planning and will be responsible for creating, analyzing, implementing and controlling finished product forecasts used for financial, production and inventory plans. This position will use historical sales demand and trends to develop accurate future forecasts.

Responsibilities include:

·         Oversee demand planning and management processes for new and existing products, both private label and branded

·         Develop and execute product demand plans by analyzing historical sales trends to project future demand by category, customer, item and location

·         Provide support on developing seasonal demand forecasts and anticipate customer reaction to promotions, events or lifts

·         Develop demand forecasts based on patterns and trends using best fit statistical methods to support top-down and bottom-up forecasting

·         Collaboratively work with customers, sales and supply chain to improve forecast accuracy

·         Establish and maintain 24 month rolling forecast to support branded and private label products with gross sales above $500M annually

·         Lead monthly S&OP process to gain consensus forecast across the organization 

·         Gather and analyze future market trends in conjunction with sales and marketing

·         Distribute monthly financial and operational forecasts

·         Develop and implement medium to large initiatives to drive process improvements

·         Maintain demand planning processes and systems to improve forecast accuracy

·         Prepares information for the monthly sales meeting highlighting the major changes to future forecasts

·         Lead root-cause analysis in major forecast variances

·         Organize and coordinate forecasts for new item launches

·         Create and report monthly forecast metrics for baseline, promotion and opinions

·         Determines the effectiveness of the alerts and control limits and owns all metrics

related to the demand plan

·         Address demand related queries and issues timely

·         Support, mentor and train other planners as needed

·         Performs other related duties as required and assigned

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s Degree; 3-5 directly in demand planning

  • Strong computer and standard desktop application skills.  Intermediate excel skill including formulas, pivot tables, V-lookup, etc.
  • Intermediate knowledge of ERP/MRPII functionality (QAD)
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced dynamic environment with changing demands and priorities
  • Experience using statistical models and calculations
  • Willingness to accept new responsibilities and challenges; ability to see opportunities in a fast-growing company
  • Proven experience analyzing data and getting measurable results from that analysis
  • Ability to work effectively across diverse departments.
  • Experience driving results with a finished product sales organization
  • Results driven with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple levels of the organization

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications

·         APICS certification

·         CPDF Certified

·         CPG Demand Planning experience

·         Experience in the food/beverage industry

·         Experience in Manufacturing or production environment

·         Ability to direct, coach and train others.

·         Consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem solving skills.
