The Plant Manager is responsible for all operations at the plant. The Plant Manager must direct the resources of the facility such that the plant operates in the safest manner possible and within budget while delivering quality products, and superior service. Insure optimal use of all facility resources to achieve the lowest possible cost in the manufacture of products that meet customer expectations, and in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Establish clear plant goals and objectives in alignment with corporate strategies and business initiatives.
Direct the development of the management team’s goals and action plans consistent with the overall plant goals and objectives.
Ensure effective reporting mechanisms are in place to track and communicate progress of key plant goals and measurements.
Select, train and develop salaried staff to effectively perform their jobs.
Ensure training and development of hourly work force.
Foster a positive, motivated and team focused work environment.
Ensure plant operates safely and in compliance with CAL OSHA and regulatory mandates. Provide leadership in the creation of and support for VBS culture at the plant.
Provide leadership and implementation of a robust process safety management program for the plant.
Maintain compliance with Food Safety & Security policy, procedures and regulations.
Ensure plant operates in compliance with all environmental regulatory standards.
Develop and manage annual budget and capital plan to ensure proper maintenance of the plant infrastructure, provide for the production of new products and services, and provide improved productivity to meet financial targets.
Ensure effective management of maintenance inventory parts & supplies to allow for continuity of plant production while minimizing inventory cost.
Ensure procurement of materials, supplies and utilities needed to operate the facility.
Ensure finished goods meet internal and external quality requirements through establishment of HACCP and other quality processes.
Achieve customer service goals and objectives by meeting and exceeding customer expectation related to service and quality. Identify and implement initiatives that provide our customers’ continuous improvement opportunities in customer service.
Ensure effective communications with corporate partners and other plant locations.
Build and maintain a positive relationship with the local community and manage the local Plant budget.


Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent


At least 10 years of experience in Plant and Production Supervisory positions; Experience working in a union environment a plus; Experience in the Food Industry and/or packaging  preferred


COMPENSATION $110,000 - $140,000
