POSITION MAINTENANCE MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES

General Summary

To direct, plan, control and monitor the overall operation of the maintenance department to ensure the continuous ability of the equipment to service our customers while maintaining high standards in quality, food safety, and safety and meeting the department’s budget

Essential Functions

Directs the coordination of all the Maintenance departments’ functions to ensure compliance with the Company’s Vision and Mission Statements
Leads by example through working in a safe manner, observing all safety requirements, and providing a safe work environment for all plant employees
Participate as an active member in the safety, quality and food safety committees through participation in meetings and performing monthly audits
Report any accidents and/or illnesses within 24 hours and perform accident investigation following the Company’s protocol.
Conduct training sessions for all department employees as needed, including safety training, food safety, and technical skills
Maintain documentation of all training activities
Ensure the building and equipment is properly maintained and complies with all OSHA regulations and Food Safety requirements established by BRC, GFSI, and AIB Standards
Assist in developing, implementing, and compliance to departmental budget, goals, and objectives.
Purchase all materials required for the operation of the department including safety equipment.
Monitor and ensure work order system operates effectively (ensure safety, food safety and other operational work orders are addressed promptly)
Responsible for compliance, maintaining, and improving the preventive maintenance program and schedule
Responsible to ensure all plant equipment is properly maintained per manufacturer recommendations and in accordance with the preventive maintenance schedule
Responsible to modify and/or suggest modifications to the equipment upon management approval, to improve its overall performance, safety or food safety operation.
Develop and implement improvements and changes in the work instructions, job descriptions and training needs.
Keep employees informed on factors relating to their work assignment, work progress, and opportunity for advancement.
Train mechanics and production personnel in troubleshooting techniques and equipment operation.
Must be able to keep administrative paperwork current regarding schedules, inspections, inventories and management reports
Direct supervision of Maintenance Supervisors
Conduct annual performance appraisals for supervisors.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Education: BA in Engineering or any technical related field

Technical Experience in a food-manufacturing environment preferred

Maintenance Management: 3 years (Required)
