POSITION PLANT MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE 

The Plant Manager is responsible for general supervision of all phases of plant operations including:  production, warehousing and maintenance while increasing production and revenue.    

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide leadership and develop highly effective site leadership team.

• Prepare operating budgets and reports while controlling costs to achieve company goals.

• Manage plant operations and processes.

• Establish a “safety first” culture and develop and maintain highly motivated workforce.

• Identify and eliminate potential sources of food safety risk.

• Responsible for delivering site environmental, health and safety performance.

• Ensure internal and external audits exceed expectations.

• Ensure legal compliance, company safety procedures and local and state health and safety regulations are met.

• Create continuous improvements and processes in key areas; i.e., safety, quality, productivity, cost and customer service.

• Continuously improve site processes and technologies and oversee daily floor operations.

• Develop and execute site capital plan, addressing short and long term opportunities.

• Implement and sustains manufacturing best practices and procedures as well as relevant certifications, qualifications, requirements; i.e., OSHA, AIB, GMP, HACCP, FSSC, FDA.

• Act as liaison between plant personnel and corporate functions in order to build a solid relationship between the teams.

• Identify issues quickly, develop action plans and coordinate team member activities.

• Develop strategies to increase productivity and production by implementing Lean and TPM across all site areas and elevate site performance.

• Develop, deploy and sustain Leader Standard Work to ensure continue success of these efforts.

• All other duties, as assigned or needed.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Management, Business or related field

• Masters in Business Administration or Management preferred

• 5+ years progressive experience in a key leadership/management role within manufacturing/warehouse operation.

• Previous experience/broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies.

• Familiar with regulatory requirements for operating plants

• Aptitude for equipment operation and troubleshooting

• Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions

• Lean Six Sigma, PMP, TPM and other related certifications 

• Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills.

• Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering.

• Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs.

• Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability.

• A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible.

• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

• Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment.

• Highly motivated, results oriented, driven.
