POSITION HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES

TWO OPENINGS IN TWO SEPARATE FACILITIES IN THE AREA 


Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee, develop, and implement HR policies, processes, systems and reporting activities for the  Facility. 
  • Direct and supervise payroll, human resources, and administrative employees.
  • Responsible for assuring that the production workforce covered by a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) (up to 1,500 employees) are assigned to work in accordance with production requirements, the labor contract, and applicable laws.  
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of the CBA, including dispute resolution (e.g. incident investigation, discipline, termination, grievance administration, and arbitration) and related communications.
  • Work with Corporate Labor Relations to develop and implement cost effective strategies that improve employee and labor relations. 
  • Coach and counsel managers and supervisors regarding employee and labor relations issues.  Promote resolution of issues at the “floor” level.
  • Investigate and review employee complaints including, but not limited to, harassment or discrimination. Works in conjunction with Corporate Human Resources to resolve complaints following applicable policy. 
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory activities such as EEO, AAP, OSHA/Safety, Workers’ Compensation, Unemployment, FMLA, and FLSA.
  • Respond and/or represent the facility regarding employee complaints or legal requests for information such as the EEOC, DOL, WCB, or Corporate HR.
  • Responsible for collecting and analyzing employee data and maintaining accurate, complete and confidential employee records.
  • Oversee weekly disbursement of payroll, including garnishments and benefits consistent with CBA and in accordance with state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Responsible for recruiting, processing of new hires and seasonal workers, and maintaining employee records accurately and confidentially.
  • Oversee relevant management reports and tracking including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (e.g. gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accruals, overtime, tax deductions, benefit deductions, employee hours, established brackets of pay, etc.).
  • Represent the facility in the community and employee events as appropriate. 
  • Implement or assist with training and industrial accident reduction programs 
  • Maintain current knowledge of the Company’s goals; critically reviewing and analyzing payroll, HR processes, trends in industry or CBA, to recommend and implement changes leading to best practice operations.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study or equivalent years of related labor experience in a unionized environment.
  • Five years of HR experience, preferably at a Supervisory level.
  • Effective coaching, conflict management, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to evaluate situations, identify options and implement effective solutions quickly and efficiently.
  • Strong leadership, administrative, organizational, managerial and communications skills. 
  • Demonstrated analytical ability to gather and interpret information; develop, recommend, and implement solutions.
  • Strong customer service focus and ability to interact with associates at all levels of the Company.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, and especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish or Punjabi speaking) preferred.
