Academic Qualifications Required
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Science discipline required. Master's degree preferred. Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certified preferred. Thorough knowledge of Statistical Process Control required.
Experience Required
3+ years' demonstrated leadership in Continuous Improvement and Statistical Process Control.
Qualifications
Must have strong interpersonal skills along with excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Must have excellent computer skills and be familiar with MS Office applications and Minitab or other Statistical Process Control Software. Must be capable of working with minimal supervision and available to work whenever needed to complete assignments. Must be able to work on several projects simultaneously and demonstrate the ability to prioritize work for self and others, trouble-shoot problems and implement process improvement solutions.
Essential Job Functions
The Process Improvement Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and sustaining reliability plans and programs to reduce unscheduled equipment downtime and improve overall process reliability and quality. This person will be responsible for leading the process improvement staff as well as our management trainees. Serve as project leader for continuous improvement and new product teams utilizing Six Sigma & Lean techniques that improve key metrics (Quality, Line Efficiencies, Yields, Consumer Complaints, Sustainability, and Cost Reduction). Aides in developing metrics that track and report status of the overall key business indicators utilizing SPC and other reporting methods. Drive process and quality improvements through the implementation of automated process controls, sampling systems, enhanced manufacturing procedures and utilization of statistical techniques. Serve as the Project leader for Problem Solving Processes (FMEA, 8D, 5 Whys, ATS, etc.) to resolve Customer complaints, customer audit findings or processes that are out of Statistical Process limits in a timely manner that prevents re occurrence. Lead RCFE (Root Cause Failure Elimination) process to identify root cause and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Additional Job Duties
Lead or assist with new product planning utilizing the advanced quality planning methodology. Lead contract packaging planning from an operations and quality prospective. Assist engineering with the successful commissioning of new lines and equipment. Instill and support safety programs and awareness. Encourage and give positive recognition. Build and strengthen relationships within the team. Evaluate team performance and provide feedback. Provide guidance and resources for special projects. Work throughout the Plant on continuous improvement projects to improve business results. "Walk the Talk" by holding yourself accountable and following FNG Core Values.
