POSITION PROCESS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Overview:

This position will lead a number of cross-functional projects within the Plant Operations as well as lead the implementation of the Performance Systems. This role requires leadership and change management skills, problem solving, technology expertise, and extensive experience in operational excellence and process improvement. The position will train, coach and mentor other Lean Six Sigma Green Belts, Lean Leaders and plant co-workers using the methodology. Additionally, they will assist the Business Unit Champion in rolling out training waves across the company. The CI Manager / Lean Six Sigma Black Belt will report directly to the Director of Operations with matrix reporting to the business unit Continuous Improvement Champion.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Key Duties

•             Identify, manage, and execute Lean Six Sigma Projects using the DMAIC methodology

•             Collect and analyze data and identify solutions based on root cause analysis and create business cases to present to key stakeholders and “sell” solutions

•             Create process maps and help standardize process and workflow where necessary

•             Serve as a primary thought leader on CI strategy within the Plant Team

•             Act as a technical expert, coach and train Green Belts, Lean Leaders and team members

•             Act as change agent to instill Lean Six Sigma culture throughout the organization

•             Monitor performance and improvements in key metrics

•             Validate savings with the Plant Controller or Financial Representative

•             Partner with Process Owners and Business Unit CI Champion to drive results

•             Employ Lean Six Sigma methodology and analytics into organizational operations in order to accomplish business objectives

•             Work with Yellow Belt Leadership Team and Green Belt-certified professionals in the planning, designing, and accomplishing of key projects

•             Travel will be approximately 50% to co-lead training waves, multi-plant maturity assessments, Business Unit CI meetings

•             Able to communicate to a broad audience from novice to expert

•             Strong coaching, counseling and interpersonal skills

•             Excellent public speaking and written skills

Qualifications:

•             Education:           Bachelor's Degree   Engineering

•             Master’s Degree preferred

•             Minimum 5 years of process improvement experience in a manufacturing environment 

•             Black Belt Required

•             Formal Lean, Six Sigma Training PMP certification a plus

•             Experience with process mapping, statistical and reporting tools (Visio, Minitab, SigmaExcel, Tableau, Excel, etc.)
