POSITION PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
RESPONSIBILITIES

Summary Statement:

The Production Supervisor directs the activities of the department in areas of Production, Maintenance and Quality.  The Operations Supervisor is to produce products efficiently and safely within established policy and processes

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Ensure compliance with established procedures, work instructions and specifications.

Check quality of products manufactured.

Coordinate Quality efforts of all operations in their area during manufacturing in order to meet product specifications and customer requirements.

Participate or lead in developing corrective and preventive actions as well as any other type of measure to correct or improve product or process quality and monitor implementation and effectiveness.

Participate in the team responsible for managing critical situations potentially impacting product quality and retrieval of product, if necessary.

Know, understand, enforce and comply with company’s Environmental Policy.

 

 

 

 

QUALITY

Implement and monitor the Quality System and ensure conformance within the appropriate department.

Work towards process and product improvement.

Coordinate follow-up and ensure effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions as well as any other measure aiming to correct or improve quality of products and processes.

Participate in the team responsible for managing critical situations potentially impacting product quality and retrieval of product, if necessary.

Participate in development, execution and coordination of Quality training in their respective departments.

Participate or lead in developing corrective and preventive actions as well as any other type of measure to correct or improve product or process quality and monitor implementation and effectiveness.

 

COST

Obtain low cost producer status on all SKU's.

Best of Best…on associates to supervisor ratios.

Best of Best on raw, packaging variances and lowest faulty percent of VGM.

Lowest inventory levels of packaging, raw and finished goods.

Achieve annual IFO targets.

Share and seek best practices from other facilities and seek and implement industry best practices.

Develop capital plan and execute against those plans.

Support Process Team initiatives.

 

DELIVERY

Achieve compliance to schedule targets.

Continuous reductions in line downtime

Write and update all PM's.

Compliance to scheduled PM's.

Appropriate MRO budgets submitted and managed.

Appropriate levels of parts inventory (min-max).

Insure lines are taken down when needed.

Hold Line techs, operators responsible for both quantity and quality of work performed.

Be responsive to stakeholder needs and inquiries.

Implement ERI (OEE. WEV) tracking on all lines.

 

SAFETY

Zero lost time accidents.

Zero recordable accidents.

All satisfactory on safety audits

100% attendance at all scheduled safety meetings (supervisors, safety reps and associates).

Address all unsafe conditions or unsafe acts.

Insure no safety inspection items repeat on next inspection.

 

MORALE

Be present on a regular basis in their areas, with their customers and associates.

Show support (publicly and privately) for all department initiatives, co-leaders and associates.

Insure associates have the proper tools (equipment, training, support, etc.) to support their areas.

Co-develop vision, strategies, objectives and development plans for the maintenance support groups.

Develop goals and expectations for self and reports, linked to formal review processes

Provide superb service to all customers, both internal and external.

 

 

 

DEVELOPMENT

Submit formal development plans for self.  Report progress at scheduled MAP reviews.

Complete DPS writing for all tasks.

Communicate clear, concise and comprehensive expectations to all associates.

Complete assignments on time.

Continuously develop your knowledge, skills and experience as a manager.

Share ownership in your department, don't focus just on how your shift is doing.

Qualifications/Abilities:

 

Bachelor's degree in operation management, business or related field preferred.  Along with some supervisor experience, experience in production and 1-3 years of supervisor or other management experience can be substituted for the degree requirement.
